Freddy’s Bar
Named in honor of Alfred Heineken who entertained colleagues and friends here, the iconic Freddy’s Bar is a timeless Amsterdam Dutch brown bar ideal for people watching and rubbing elbows with a power menagerie of moguls, high society, politicos, and screen stars. Soft lighting, wood walls enveloping cozy leather banquettes and comfy chairs encourage guests to kick back and relax. Pianist Tarmo Vesterbohm plays in the background keeping guests entertained while they sip cocktails and wines from an impressive and deep list, nibbling on gourmet snacks. Freddy’s is noted for the city’s best Bloody Mary and is often touted by independent reviewers as the city’s best hotel bar.

The Finnish Dutch Trade Guild celebrates its 25 Anniversary 2012 and started the season with a Nordic Luncheon at the very chic Hotel Des Indes in Den Hague. The Ambassadors from Finland, Norway and Sweden and a great mix of members from the FDTG, Swe-Cham and DDBC listened to Keynote speaker and Honorary Guest Mr. Jorma Ollila, Non-Executive Chairman of Royal Dutch Shell and Nokia, share some thoughts about Nokia, Shell and his work as head of Finland’s country brand delegation.

The traditional JCC Lucia Party took place at Hotel Pulitzer on the 10th of December, where everyone in a merry Christmas spirit gathered by the hotel bar and enjoyed a cup of Swedish “glögg” while waiting for the Lucia procession. Members of the JCC committee and the Swedish Chamber trainees who participated in the process had been practicing hard for the performance, which was certainly appreciated by the audience. The Swedish guests felt just like at home and the other nationalities present enjoyed this glimpse into Swedish Christmas traditions.

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce JCC would like to thank all guests for a great evening and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

On Thursday November 17th, JCC gathered at Hotel Sebastian for an inspiring after work and coaching session with professional coaches Kristina Zumpolle and Willemien Storm van 'sGravesande. After learning the basics of coaching the guests teamed up to see how it is to coach and to be coached, discussing what areas of life to improve and how to do it. An eye-opening first-time experience for most of the participants, but everyone did a great job providing each other with insightful thoughts!

We would like to thank Kristina Zumpolle and Willemien Storm van 'sGravesande for an exciting and fun night and also all participants for their contribution to make this a successful event!

On November 12th JCC members with guests gathered at Boom Chicago for a fast-paced, all-improvised party show: Shot of Improv. The evening started with pre-drinks at the Chicago Social Club, and after a hilarious show filled with laughter the JCC went to Leidseplen where the party continued.

The JCC would like to thank everyone who attended and we hope you enjoyed the show and had a great time!
