With Sweden as a common interest, a network can naturally and easily be established. Also in London and in other capitals of the world, its has proven to be a fruitful initiative.
What would you like to achieve with JCC?
I would like that young professionals with a Swedish link have a forum to meet informally where they can share their experiences with other Swedes and Dutch and help eachother in business and personal life. The more members we can gather, the more chance that business opportunities and friendships may arise and bloom!
Why should your colleagues and friends join JCC?
It is both inspiring and useful to meet people from all kinds of business fields.
We will organise various interesting business presentations with drinks afterwards and
celebrate Swedish events like midsummer´s eve. Of course, it will be great fun!

Meet the members of the JCC Committee!

Name: Karin Fernström
Age: 27
Nationality: Swedish
Living in Netherlands since: June 2007
From: Stockholm, Sweden
Occupation: Investment Controller
Company: Investor AB (Investor Growth Capital)
Why the Netherlands?
It was a bit random that I ended up in Amsterdam. I was aiming at going abroad for a period of time and when the opportunity came up it felt like the obvious choice. I have never regretted moving here and I felt right at home from day one. It is “close” to Europe, almost everyone speaks English and Amsterdam in particular is a very international and social environment.
Hobbies: Skiing, aquarelle painting, travelling, have a good time with friends
Personal drive: Curiosity and to seize every opportunity to make the most out of life.
Why JCC: I joined JCC almost immediately when I came here as I had heard about it through a friend. I did not know anyone in Amsterdam and I though it was a perfect way of networking, learn more about the country I am in and to have a good time.
What would you like to achieve with JCC:
JCC should be the obvious choice to meet, learn and exchange ideas and at the same time expand your social network. JCC has now been on the scene in Holland for a little bit more than one and a half years and I think the focus should now be on not just attracting new members but also keeping the existing ones. Therefore we should strive to do our best to deliver more diversified activities, in line with the interest of the members, and also to spread the knowledge about JCC and what a fantastic network it is!
Why should your colleagues and friends join JCC:
Why shouldn’t people join? It makes you feel more at home when you are new and it is also an excellent networking scene on the long-term. So whether you are interested in learning more about companies in the region, network with people in various industries, learn more about the Swedish connection in the Netherlands or if you just want to have a good time I think there is no reason not to join.

Meet the members of the JCC Committee!

Name: Tobias Johansson
Age: 27
Nationality: Swedish
Living in since: Netherlands, Amsterdam since April 2007
From: Sweden, Höllviken
Occupation: Global category Manager
Company: Philips
Why the Netherlands: For me it was very much a coincidence. I want to work in an international environment where I feel at home. Amsterdam provides me with the perfect mixture of friendlieness and challenges on both a personal and a professional level. Amsterdam´s position as a business hub for many international companies and its geographically central European location also makes it a very interesting and challenging place to live.
Hobbies: Music (piano and singing), Sports and Traveling
Personal Drive: Being happy.
Why JCC: I was sponsored by Investor to work as a scholar at the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in London 2005-2006. It was an amazing year where the most memorable part was organizing the centenary celebrations where Ingvar Kamprad, the Crown Princess Victoria and Margot Wallström took part. I want to share my experiences to the Swedish Chamber in Amsterdam and provide the Dutch-Swedish members of the JCC with the same good mixture of fun and business as I did in London.
What would you like to achieve with JCC?
To build up an independent and well-known networking organisation for anyone interested in Sweden. The vision is of course that when mentioning Sweden in the Netherlands, the first thing on people´s minds should be the Swedish Chamber and the JCC (and not IKEA, mooses or cold weather).
Why should your colleagues and friends join JCC?
The JCC´s wide scope with people working in many different industries creates a great atmosphere for anyone interested in networking on a professional level. From a social perspective, the JCC is filled with fun people and the traditional Swedish parties, like Lucia and the Crayfish Party should not be missed by anyone!
